What we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it.

Wild Moments Safari & Travel ("Wild Moments", "we", "us") is a safari planning business operated from Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use this website, enquire about a trip or travel with us. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies to visitors from the EU and UK, the GDPR.
For anything related to your information, contact Jarryd du Preez at jarryd.dupreez@wildmoments.co.za or on +27 76 932 3963.
Our contact and enquiry forms ask for your name, email address, what kind of trip interests you, travel dates, who is travelling, an indicative budget, destinations of interest and your message. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we keep that correspondence.
To confirm reservations, suppliers need passenger details: full names as they appear in passports, passport numbers and expiry dates, dates of birth, nationality, and flight details. Lodges also ask for dietary requirements, allergies, relevant medical information and children's ages. We collect this from you only as the trip requires it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. This site uses essential cookies only, for caching and security. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Dietary, medical and children's information is shared with suppliers strictly so they can host you safely, and for no other purpose. Information about children is only collected from a parent or guardian making a booking.
Enquiry correspondence that does not lead to a booking is kept for up to 2 years, in case you pick the planning up again, then deleted. Booking records are kept for 5 years to meet South African financial record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your information sooner; see your rights below.
The site runs over HTTPS, and access to booking records is limited to the people who work on your trip. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we apply reasonable and appropriate measures as POPIA requires, and we will notify you and the Information Regulator if a breach ever affects your information.
Under POPIA (and the GDPR where it applies) you can:
Email jarryd.dupreez@wildmoments.co.za with any of these requests and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
We are on Facebook and Instagram as @wildmomentstravel. If you interact with us there, the platform processes your data under its own privacy policy. The same applies to WhatsApp, which we use for client communication, and to any third-party sites this website links to.
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes that affect existing clients will be communicated directly.
The terms that govern bookings are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
Your details go to the lodges that host you and nowhere else. If you want to know exactly what we hold about you, ask and we will show you.
